-flail- I don't know where to begin. I loved Kanda's expressions in this chapter, they were interesting (don't get me wrong, I feel bad for him at the same time).
My reaction to Nea (Neah?) was, "Wow." I think I love him a little~.
I knew Timcanpy was awesome but I have more love for him in this chapter.
Okay question now. If Alma is akuma (like the canon says he is) and it's obvious he's stronger then a level 4, how is his chained soul in recognizable condition when a level 4's soul made Allen sick? I was doing okay-ish with the whole "I'm an akuma but have little akuma traits and I break the rules of how an akuma's made" but now the soul breaks the rules too? -whines- You're writing this stuff on whims now, aren't you Hoshino.
Also, as shocking as this might be, I'm not hating on Alma like people except (considering I'm hard-core KandaAllen fan). I never expected my ship to be canon anyways (I just take what I can get from canon) and this won't stop me from loving my pairing (if I can ship KradDaisuke together as much as I do when it has no chance in hell, I can deal with this~). I'm happy for KandaAlma fans~. Plus, canon never stops fans (fans are stubborn that way~).
This chapter also made me realize that, I'm haft afraid of the current sage ending (cause I looks like it might be coming soon). I thought about it. Once it ends, we'll see if Hoshino does go back and show us what happened with Lavi, Lenalee, and the other Noah. If she doesn't and goes "Summary~" (of something equivalent to it), I'm going to be kinda pissed and I'm pretty sure that will kill part of my love for this series^^'.
I think I have a love/hate feeling for this chapter.

I think maybe it's because Alma's soul is his (er, hir) own, not simply a soul attached to a Akuma machine body. Alma's body isn't even the machine that most Akuma are - he's still mostly organo and stuff. That's my thought on the whole thing.

If not... Eh, it was needed for the plot to go on.

Lol~. Part of it is I see no point in getting mad and going "Oh HELL no!". The other part is my mind is still in BBS lala land~. I'm in love with that game.
I just wish Hoshino would explain it more (actually I wanna a lot things explained but...). I get Alma's not a normal Akuma but this getting weird/confusing. -sigh-
My chapter rant is short partly because I don't wanna go into ranting about everything that's inconsistent lately.

Hoshino doesn't seem to explain much anymore,does she? I think the whole "Nea was reacting to Innocence" thing is the best explanation of ANYTHING we've gotten this entire arc.

My current "Hoshino, be moar consistant" issue is Allen's eye thing. Namely, that it PROJECTS what he sees to the people around him. So WHY does Kanda not see girl!Alma soul at the moment? And my just plain ole plot hole issue is WHERE THE HELL DID ALMA'S INNOCENCE GO?

Hoshino starting to make me a little sad. Hence why I'm scared about what she's going to after this. I miss having explanations (I also understanding things~).
I don't think she ever fully explained how that part of his eye worked in the first place. Hell me and friend where wondering why Allen or his innocence didn't puppet him like in the Level 4 arc when his leg broke ("I can't walk." -blink- Wait, you've been haft dead and didn't stop fighting before, what changed?).
My guesses with Alma's innocence would be either it got destroyed some how in the battle with Kanda (highly doubting that though) or (and more likely) The order did something weird/bad/stupid with it.

Oh, that's a pretty good one. But yeah, no one has seen any evidence of Allen's wide-range eye function since way back in volume 5 or whatever.

The Order does lots of bad, stupid things, obviously. Betcha some of the science3 people are going "But is he still an accomadator?" about Alma now.

Alma's personality still rubs me the wrong way (I still don't quite get why he was attacking Kanda in the first place, pre-Akuma-fying), but that doesn't stop me from feeling bad for him/her/hir. What does Alma identify as, argh. If there's been discord between Kanda/Alma and Kanda/Allen fans, I haven't noticed?

At least for the whole "Alma is an Akuma except not" thing, Hoshino tried to explain it by having the Earl basically go "I made him really fast ok shut up >_>" even though that doesn't explain much.
Maybe it has to do with Alma's situation being weird in the first place? Kanda and Alma were already kind of like Akuma if I understand it right, with the transferring souls to create more soldiers thing, so maybe some side-effect of that somehow kept his soul from degrading?
Alma's situation is already different in that he seems to remember his first life -- or enough to know that he's that girl, and to have that be important to him. For other Akuma, there seems to be a separation between their souls and their selves, at least as soon as the Akuma is powerful enough to have a sense of self. I'm pretty sure Eliade didn't remember anything about who she was prior to being an Akuma.

I was mostly bothered by the same thing starcrossed_sky mentioned, about Allen's eye working again but not projecting. Hoshino keeps ignoring her own canon when it would be so easy to come up with a canon excuse, going "Oh, uh, it got affected by all the magic stuff slinging around, yeah," or something.

Nea's name... I wish it was a little different. Instead of reading it properly like "ne-ah," I keep slurring it together in my head and reading it like "nyeh," like some mobster talking. "Nyeh, see? You've become a mad puppet, nyeh, see?"

I get what you mean on Alma. I just find him weird and confusing for the most part? Also, it's more like a lot fans are expecting the "RAWR" from any Kanda-pairing fans it seems.
Hoshino's explanations have gotten kinda lame (which makes me sad).
Yeah, true. I'm doubting we're ever going to fully understand everything that's happened especially with Alma, can we just call him an AU!Akuma?.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of "ooh, awaiting trouble!" comments, but I don't think I've seen any actual trouble. it gets a bit annoying.

At least this chapter seemed to flow better than some other ones, even though it still doesn't make sense and there were a few panels I had to squint at for little bit (going "wait, what?"). I'm still holding out hope that she'll get the storytelling and everything under control by the time the next arc starts up. Kind of a "stumbling after hitting the ground running" thing.

I want to know how to refer to Alma with pronouns now. :| I want to know if Alma thinks/thought of himself/herself/hirself as a guy or a girl or what.
And calling him an AU!Akuma doesn't even work. DX I guess I'll refer to him as "type B" and make up a headcanon saying that the Earl had been experimenting with other ways of making Akuma.

We got a lot more of an explanation of his eye back then than what we get for stuff now. Since we really only saw the shows-other-people-Akuma-souls ability right after Allen first got the upgrade, maybe that's one thing he could consciously control about it (after getting used to it)? It would explain the later (and especially the latest) chapters. It would be nice to get a Word of God on that, though.

Oh, definitely, I miss her new style. The new stuff won't be so bad once it's actually less floundering and more style.

I guess I'll watch for what Alma gets called most often and follow suit.

Maybe we'll get some (somewhat sensible) explanations after this arc finishes.

I missed Cross after people brought him up, but I don't think Cross was involved in Tim using mad skillz. The 14th had called him "my Timcanpy" back in his room on the Ark, after all.
